College Planning Events

Please note that all dates are tentative and more details will be posted closer to the event.  ALL MEETINGS ARE IN THE LCC AT 7:00 PM (unless advised otherwise)

September 15, 2011:  Senior Night   An evening for seniors and their parents which will include presentations about the college application and college-acceptance process.

October 12, 2011:  Test Day for Grades 9-11; College4U Extreme and Yearbook Picture for the Senior Class  11th grade takes the PSAT; 10th grade takes the PLAN; and 9th grade takes the Explore test.  Seniors will have a special event planned especially for them, followed by taking the senior class photo for the yearbook.

January 12, 2012:  College Financial Aid Night  This is a night for parents of all grade levels during which ways to finance college will be presented.  A speaker will be on hand for the latter half of the evening to guide parents of seniors in completing the FAFSA.

January 26, 2012:  Junior Night  The focus of this event is researching colleges.  Juniors need to bring their College Planning Notebook they received at Sophomore Night the previous year.

February 13, 2012:  9th and 10th Grade Night.  We will be returning the PLAN and EXPLORE test results and distributing the College Planning Notebooks to the Freshmen and new Sophomores.   There will also be a short presentation about college athletics.

March 15, 2012:  Eighth Grade – Planning for High School  The guidance counselors partner to explain what we expect from high school students.
