Spiritual Emphasis Week at Christian Junior and Christian High School is January 30 - February 2. We will have a special speaker all three days, as well as benefit from the annual Shadow Mountain Community Church missions week. The schedule for the week is attached.
Our speaker is Jason Marshall who comes to us from New Jersey (a friend and colleague of our special friend Brooks Gibbs).
Here is a short bio for Jason:
Jason was born and raised on the Southern Jersey Shore… and he still hasn't left. Since 1999, he has been heavily involved in junior and senior high youth ministry both with his church and Young Life. His background as a teacher and coach has given him a window into the lives of teens, fueling his passion for connecting with youth and joining God in the battle for their souls. Jason is currently the Director of a Youth Speaker Agency and enjoys speaking as much as he can. He is also the proud father of 2 incredible boys and the husband of an amazing wife.
Community Service Hours Requirement: Be sure to keep abreast of the additions to the Servant Leadership Calendar. There have been several service opportunities added to the calendar. Remember, Freshmen are required to serve ten hours of community service, Sophomores are required to serve 15 hours and Juniors 20 hours during the school year. Parents, PTF Meetings are held monthly at each campus. Come get involved!
- PTF at Christian Elementary West meets the 2nd Wednesday of the month from 8 to 9:30 am in Room 14
- PTF at Christian Elementary East meets the 4th Thursday of the month from 8:15 to 9:30 am at the Merritt residence.
- PTF at Christian Junior and Senior High meets the 1st Thursday of the month at 8:00 am in the Gym Lobby. Contact the campus secretary at each location for more information.
Moms in Prayer at CJHS/CHS: Moms in Prayer is a prayer group consisting of moms praying for their children, teachers, school staff and school concerns. We meet every Thursday morning at 9:00 am in the Athletic Conference Room (upstairs offices by the gym). Please feel free to join us. If you have any questions, contact Carolyn Leslie at 619-402-4979. Elementary groups are still forming.
Men's Prayer Meeting: Men of CUSSD, you are invited to join Superintendent Chuck Leslie and other dads from the school every Thursday morning for a time of prayer. The group meets from 6:30 to 7:00 am in Room 604 to pray for God's protection and blessings over the school. We believe in the power of prayer for our children.
